Meal and Service

On Maundy Thursday we remember Jesus' 'Last Supper' with his disciples.

It was during this holy meal that Jesus instituted the sacrament of what we now call the Eucharist (from the Greek word eucharista (εὐχαριστία), which means "thanksgiving"). The heart in which Jesus presided over this meal displays for us an awe-inspiring heart of service and humility.

This year we will come together in worship around a meal (provided by Emmaus Road), followed by a time of worship and reflection. Together we will take time to enter into the servant heart of Christ through a hand-washing station as we remember the moment when the creator of the universe "laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him." John 13.4-5
